WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT?

Welcome to year 2 of the annual calendar to raise much needed funds for our local Suicide prevention team, "Limerick Suicide Watch"

LSW are a group of 75 volunteers of all backgrounds who patrol the 4 bridges in Limerick. Their aim is to help people in distress and who may be feeling suicidal. With absolutely zero government funding, they have managed to save countless lives in our beautiful city. Limerick has the highest rate of suicide in Ireland and we need to be doing more to help each other. These folk are trained fully in ASIST (applied suicide intervention skills technique), first aid, cpr, defibrillators, child protection, Riverside training, throw bag, ligature, communications and man in the water.

All of this is funded by the public. Their high vi's, waterproof uniforms, their night vision tech, defibrillators... All of it is funded by you.

The theme for the calendar this year is "Through the looking glass". After what was quite the tumultuous couple of years, the scary pandemic that stole so many of our lives, we wanted to put that into a story. From the confusion of the beginning (grey) to the grieving (black) and then the burst of light (white) where we saw the restrictions lift and we could once again meet and talk and begin our healing journey together... The wonderful team behind this calendar did an exceptional job and hearts and souls were poured into it. I hope you love it as much as we loved making it for you and we can all rally together and give LSW a much needed boost and a thank you for everything they do for our family, friends, colleagues.... Anyone can be struggling.
